Employment Opportunities
The Language Education and Research Center is part of Kyushu Sangyo University, ranked by Times Higher Education as one of the top 50 private universities in Japan. Located in the city of Fukuoka, the LERC currently employs 26 full-time faculty (7 tenured and 19 full-time non-tenured). In contrast to many university language centers in Japan, we welcome both full-time and adjunct faculty to conduct educational research. While this research-oriented workplace culture produces new knowledge regarding educational improvements at the LERC, it is also mutually beneficial for lecturers who seek to build careers in the field of education. Since its establishment in 2008, our faculty members have taken advantage of numerous professional development opportunities that have arisen at the Center. To date, ten full-time contract faculty members have based doctoral thesis investigations on issues related to our teaching and learning context, and many of them now publish regularly in international journals.
If you believe that you can contribute to the LERC and have an interest in experiencing one of the most rewarding English teaching jobs in Japan, we want to hear from you.
